A\V Select Students win Time Warner Cable’s clean air PSA contest

This year’s first place winner in the City of Austin Clean Air PSA contest was produced by none other than Austin High School. The A\V Select team produced the thirty second PSA with the help of some AHS faculty and their families. Keeth Matheny and his wife Cory Matheny play the roles of a husband and wife couple who are letting their car idle in the driveway when a neighborhood kid, played by Shelly Hoffman’s daughter, Libby Hoffman, walks up beside their car to explain how idling in the driveway is not good for the ozone layer.

The spot titled “Ozone Patrol” was written and directed by Miranda Gershoni. Rounding out the crew: Quinn Holmes – 2nd Assistant Camera / Editor, Truman Matheny – First Assistant Camera, Nicholas Aragon-Maresca – Assistant Director, Sami Mahmoud – Camera Operator, Anne Marie Marler – Production Design, Jude Sabo – Location Sound, and Avni Singh – Script Supervisor

Clean Air - 10 (1)

The team was honored at a city council meeting on April, 7th to commemorate the win and  Mayor Steve Adler awarded us a certificate of merit along with a Samsung Galaxy Tablet which the team bestowed upon Libby. The spot will be airing on Time Warner Cable throughout the coming months.
